Balls to the Wall

Yeah, we were busy this weekend. It was a fun and good busy but busy. Joelynn and I both took Friday off from work so we could spend some quality time together. I loved it. We slept in! Ah, that the one of the greatest things... sleeping in. I am not a morning person so if I can get up when I want to, that is a beautiful thing.

We got pedicures and then went to the shooting range. They finally had stocked their ammo so we got some. We shot up our targets pretty good. It was awesome. I am getting a lot more confident at the range. I used to be really scared just walking in to the place. Now I walk in like I own it. OK, maybe not quite that confident but it is must better.

We went shopping after that. Joelynn wanted a new outfit for mother's day. We found a really cute gray suit. She was pumped. Then we went and got my mother's day present. I wanted a new slicer. I know, kind of a lame thing to want but I really wanted one so I could cut up the veggies and stuff without any trouble. I like it all to be uniformly cut and it is hard with a knife.

I had a little trouble using it for the 1st time last night. I have never used one so Joelynn had to help me figure it out. I made the most awesome looking salad for the BBQ. I use my slicer to cut mushrooms, red peppers, green peppers, orange peppers and radishes. Yeah! It was awesome. It works great and makes killer slices.

We went sailing on Saturday with Joelynn's brother. I have never been sailing before so it was a real adventure. I was worried that I would get sea sick and I didn't. There was one time when I started to feel it coming on but I just rolled with it and it went away quickly. We were out for a few hours. It was neat because we were an active part of getting the boat where we wanted it to go. Joelynn's brother would call out a command, we would respond with "ready" and then the magic would happen. I would loosen or tighten my sail rope depending on what we were doing. I messed up one time and it took us 3 times to get it the way we wanted but then I finally understood what I was supposed to be doing. Like they say, the 3rd time is the charm.

Braxton stayed over on Saturday night. We worked in the yard. He got out his mower and mowed along with me. He was so cute. If I'd pull my mower back, he would do the same. He would follow me up and down the rows. Then he got bored with that and started making his own rows. He loves to be outside. When we were finished, he was bummed so I had him help me get my mower to the back yard and into the shed. He did not want it to be over but it was getting late and we were all hungry.

We went and got some dinner and finally got home and to bed around 10:30. Braxton was so tired, he slept until about 9 the next morning. He slept in so we all got to sleep in. It was wonderful.

When he got up, we got him ready for the day and he wanted to wear his big boy undies. He picked out some Buzz Lightyear undies and we told him that he needed to tell us when he needed to go potty. He said he would and so we went outside to finish up some stuff in the yard before the BBQ later that night. Next thing I know - seriously like 5 minutes later, he said I needed to change his pants because they were wet. We had him wait a while and then I took him in and got him cleaned up. This time he chose Cars undies. He was pretty excited about these and did not want to take them off to pee. There were no accidents but he only had them on for about 30 minutes before it was time to change and go home. He was happy because he got a sticker for sitting on his potty. He never actually used it but we give him a sticker every time he sits on it. He chose a Snoopy sticker.

The BBQ went fine. My family was not able to come over because my mom has been sick and needed to stay home in bed. Everyone else came and had a good time. We also celebrated Braxton's "Due Date" birthday. We sang to him and he blew out candles. It was excited and loved to eat the cake.

It was a great weekend. Now I need a weekend to re-cover from the weekend.
